Together with Planting Communities of SPORE Initiative, Berlin we are hosting a convivial moment, sharing food and stories from the network of farmers and land protectors they collaborate with in the Spore Garden Kitchen showcasing the community work with @casadelleagriculture Casa delle Agriculture, @dirittiasud Diritti a Sud, @salento_km0 Salento KM Zero, @seminazioni SeminAZIONI. We are planning it in four chapters:

Starting from the land for seminars, relationships, and a new ecological mindset as this is the goal of the Seminazioni project (Casarano, Salento (South East of Italy) occupied with the preservation of the local and autochthonous seeds. Among their activities, Seminazioni organized a wheat harvest day, reviving ancient manual techniques with a scythe, along with several elders who oversaw the entire process.

From sawing towards the cultivation of the land we take lentils, farro, semola, taralli from Casa delle Agriculture (Castiglione d'Otranto, Salento) -- a more than a decade-long sister relations with Free Home. This flagship community of the revolutionary land protectors, new peasants who managed to re-establish their community and economy trough engaging with land, experimental education, and cultures.

For the next chapter "processing" we brought passata (tomato paste) made by a cooperative Sfrutto Zero (Nardo', Salento) -- a group of young activists who for the last decade are being engaged with the non-slavery protocols in organizing the cultivation, harvesting and processing tomatoes in the region infamous for the new forms of slavery where migrant workers are usually disenfranchised.

And the culmination of our event is a dinner cooked together and shared along with the reflections on the ethical food production and consumption.
